about
"Costa Rica's Indiana Jones," Tad Cantrell, is an avid surfer and ocean kayaker with 16 years of experience in Costa Rica. Born in the Virgin Islands, he acquired the nickname "Popo" as a child. After traveling throughout Europe and working as a popular Class V whitewater river guide in Colorado, he set his sights on Costa Rica. He explored nearly the entire Nicoya coast by kayak, then settled in Playa Carrillo in 1991 where he began an ocean and river kayak business with his Costa Rican wife, Susana.
Their business has since grown to include lodging, surfing classes and tours, educational sea turtle tours, and real estate. Dealing in primarily large and undeveloped parcels in the Nicoya Peninsula region, they can assist you with everything from finding your perfect piece of property to planning and development for your private home or business.
They also offer specialized tours of Costa Rica and Nicaragua to your most desired destinations. The Cantrell's have friends from the Atlantic to the Pacific, from Panama to Nicaragua and everywhere in between, and know the best places to visit, surf, explore, and stay, assuring your trip is one you will talk about again and again.
This family works together in a rare and wonderful way to provide tourists and Costa Ricans with a delightful glimpse of their everyday paradise. They believe strongly in eco-friendly tourism and hire local help. “Leave nothing but footprints” isn't just a motto with them, it's a responsibility that they take to heart.
