Fort Popham - Close up Lobster Boat

Popham Beach, Maine. One of the most beautiful beaches in the World. Down on the southeast tip of the Phippsburg peninsula.

This is where fishermen head out of the Kennebec in their boats into the northern most tip of Casco Bay to fish for giant Bluefin tuna, American lobster, crab, cod, hake, and shrimp in some of the most spectacular fishing grounds anywhere to be found. Charter boats offer day trips south to Fox Island, Seguin Lighthouse and beyond or north up the Kennebec River into the seafaring town of Bath.

This is the beach where tourists come year after year, generation after generation, sharing memories, stories, good times, long walks on the beach, and the history stretching back 400 years and beyond.

This is the place where stories are not only to be told but made. Where sanddollars wash up on the shores, where terns nest, where seals frolick on the rocks, and barefoot children play at the water's edge.

Come to Popham. Where nothing but the tide changes with the times. You will forever be grateful that you did.
