My First Watercolor Painting

Study in Watercolor - Homosassa%2C Florida

Today's painting is the very first watercolor I ever painted. I made this out on the island off Old Homosassa, Florida last winter. I was sitting on an old broken down dock and this was the beautiful view. The tide was in almost all the way. When it's out there are oyster bars exposed on the point and I painted it that way another day. I think I've posted both that one and this one before.

My art supplies came today. I'm like a kid in a candy store when the art supplies arrive. I had plenty to work with but I was excited to see the new small canvas blocks I ordered. They are awesome. 4" x 4" and on thick wood. They can stand up on their own. I also got some super thick high quality watercolor paper but I can tell already I'm going to love it and need a lot more :)

It's been rainy, but warm in Maine. verysmallanna is here visiting Z. She came by bus from NYC (Brooklyn actually) and had Thanksgiving with her family. It's nice to have her here again. I love hearing her little giggle. I know Z's happy to see her, too.

Some friends and family are supposed to come over this weekend to look at and/or buy some art. I know one of them has a gift in mind for Christmas. I'm so thrilled people want to actually not only see but also buy my art. Happy, Happy. More later.
